Thanks for visiting
We're The Carrell Family. We are a family band located in northeast Alabama with Father, Mother, Son and Daughter singing and playing instruments to glorify the Lord.
We play Bluegrass Gospel style music. We've been playing as a band since February 2008. Daddy plays the upright bass Mama plays the pink guitar Brother plays the 3-finger banjo and the clawhammer banjo Sister plays the mandolin and the fiddle The children are the main members of this band. Dad and Mom are just hanging on. In fact, this is the children's band. They had a meeting and invited us in.
In 2008, Brother won 2nd place in Jack Hatfield's Smokey Mountain Banjo Academy's Three-finger Bluegrass Banjo contest and 1st place in the Clawhammer Banjo contest. In 2009, he became the Old Timey Banjo Grand Champion of the Cherokee County Fiddler's Convention.
Sister wows the audience with her fast mandolin pickin' and fun fiddlin'. She doesn't do contests.
We base what we do on
- Sing a new song to Him; play skillfully on the strings, with a joyful shout.
I encourage you to read the entire Psalm 33. It is 22 verses of Praise to the Creator. It explains how the heavens and the earth and all that is in them were created by God. It tells us that happy is the nation whose God is the Lord. God desires our praises and instructs us to sing joyfully unto Him.
We hope that all we do glorifies and praises Him.
